By far the best steaks in the Valley and the service and food are always top-notch. They appear to have a new menu and my wife and I did a comparison with a similar restaurant Greek Islands and albeit the steaks are like night and day in quality, as far as value goes, the nod goes to Greek Islands. One things Q has is fresh food and I felt the vegetable sides at Greek were not anywhere close to the quality at Q. The main difference is price and quantity. Greek gives you almost 4 courses for dinner and most entrees are under $20. The steaks are smaller but you get so much food, that you always leave very filled. The schnitzel is tops in our books but with dinners and you also get a bowl of fresh soup, hot fresh toast (bread was cold and hard at Q) salad, choice of starch sides and vegetables. The sides at Q were very tasty but some of the prices are outrageous. $18 for fish and chips? Are you kidding? Most of the Steaks (albeit larger than Greek) are in the $30+ range and I am afraid that in this town, there are those who do appreciate the quality but price is everything. Both places have their ups and downs but both have unique and quality dishes.
Lastly we tried the brunch buffet at Qs and it was very tasty! The eggs benny were outstanding, great hot sides but in reality they didnt offer a lot and a few items seemed a little underwhelming. One thing that really stood out was the cheese and fruit area. I have never been offered so many different varieties of high quality cheeses in any buffet ever. I have to admit that for a few dollars more The Bedford House in Fort Langley gives you more value for your money. Carvings of ham and fresh roast beef plus maybe a a half dozen more hot entrees for your choosing. Of course Bedford has legendary desserts so if need to stay in Abbotsford go to Q , otherwise Bedford is a much better brunch

The do have a great brunch and even better dinner buffet. Great value for the money. Was very disappointed a few Sundays ago as there was no announcement but they were closed. Nothing but a note on the door. I found out later they were servicing the Air Show which is fine but at least let us know. This place keeps getting better and better. I know what you mean (Dealer1) about the bread. It used to be our favourite start to a great meal but its been cold and very hard the last two dinners. The new crab appie is really really good . Besides Chef Dick they also have a new Chef who is out of this world and my wife loves some of the new sides they have come up with. Still same quality when he is not cooking but twice I have been there and this new Chef has a different flair. Great idea about the garlic butter or toast and from what I have been told this Chef and the owner listen to the public. They even have garlic mashed now! A good place to go and except for a miss-step of being closed I highly recommend this over some of the other places in town.

The new menu is superb and by far the best steaks in the Fraser Valley. We went to the Sunday Brunch and oh my the choices were top notch. The eggs bennie were some of the best I have ever had. One note in that the bread served for diner was cold and a little hard. We had been there before with warm bread. I would love to have garlic butter if garlic toast is not made available with the bread. Other than that, the service was great (Wade was his name) and the sides to our New York steaks were fresh, plentiful and quite unique. Good wine selection! Highly recommend this hidden gem in Abbotsford.Oh the lunch menu is very reasonable for business lunches or just a quick bite to eat.

I recently went to three restaurants for Sunday Brunch and thought I would give my two-cents worth. I went to Rain, Apple Bettys And Q Steakhouse and there is no comparison in the three. In fact it does a disservice to Q Steakhouse to even mention the other two. Rain burned to the ground so I wont even mention how horrible their brunch was and Apple Bettys was just awful. The only thing about Apple Bettys I will even mention was that they did have fresh ice cream and that was about the only thing that was fresh on their menu. Q Steakhouse was phenomenal! They had one of e best selections for brunch I have ever had. This was my first time at Qs but we WILL be back! For just under $16.00 there were more than enough entrees for any type of taste. The Eggs Benedict were some of the best I Have ever had and everything from fresh rolls, croissants, seafood, salads were just top notch. The ambiance was not noisy like other restaurants and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. After two rounds through the Buffet line we went to he dessert/cheese/fruit area where there were so many treats I couldnt believe my eyes. You get more value at this buffet than any other in Abbotsford and I would recommend it highly. I understand they have a whole new lunch and dinner menu so we are planning on coming back this week!

The new menu is outstanding! In fact I must admit, that unless I wanted the best steak in town, there wasn't a lot on the menu to sample other choices. It isn't that there wasn't anything but steak, but for my tastes there wasn't a lot to choose from. Others have different opinions and loved the other fare but for me there wasn't much I wanted to try. BUT NOW! Anything you can imagine they have! I love it! They have a whole new menu of appies. The Dynamite Sticks and Crab Bake are incredible. We have been there three times for dinner and I have not had steak once! The meat loves combo has Marinated Pork kebob, lemon grilled chicken, sirloin steak topped with BBQ braised beef. The plate is HUGE! The seafood combo is a bargain under $30 and in fact if you want the best Macaroni and Cheese ever, try it! I was surprised how large it was and could barely finish my plate.
What is really great is their lunch menu, Monte Christos, Burgers and a whole new array of salads. I won't even get into the Buffets on Sunday. the place is packed almost every weekend so word is already getting out.

The brunch was outstanding and the selection was awesome. I remember when madisons had a brunch and this beat them hands down. I kind of miss the crepes but there was more than enough types of food to satisfy anyone. With that said, it might help to have another hot item on the menu for children? The bacon was actually some of the tastiest I have had and not that oily greasy stuff you find at other local buffets. The Benedict were some of the best I have ever had. The dessert were too many to sample and the cheese board was the biggest surprise of all. We went for dinner the following week and my entre the Q Tenderloin was superb but my wifes medium NY was cold. The waiter was very nice and immediately took care of it. Said there was someone new in the kitchen. Overall the dinner was ok and the price was very good.

We have been to the new Sunday dinner buffet twice now and after experiencing other buffets in Abbotsford, this by far is the best in town. We were there on their Thanksgiving night buffet and the selection was outstanding. They not only had fresh turkey but carved ham including all the traditional Thanksgiving fare associated with a great meal. The vegetables/yams/squash were fresh and there was a massive selection of side dishes that covered anyones tastes. They also had the best cheese and fruit selection I have ever had in a buffet and the desserts! Oh, we just couldnt get enough. After coming to this buffet we didnt know it could be outdone, but the next week, the carving table had the most exquisite Prime Rib I have ever had in this type of genre. Also, the other entrees were equally enjoyable with salmon, chicken and other delectable dishes. I had thought the cheese, fruit and dessert tables were special for Thanksgiving but these are just the normal routine for this buffet. The staff was incredible and the Chef was there carving the Prime Rub and chatting with all who experienced this meal. We took the kids the next week to the Breakfast Brunch and it was equally enjoyable. The only issue we had with the Brunch was that there might be some more child friendly food. The kids loved the fresh rolls, fruit and the best eggs Benedict I have had in years but I had hoped there might have been some other fare for the kids. They might vary up the menu but we would have likes some pancakes, or French toast so the kids to drown them in syrup. With that saying there is not a better value for the selection in town and we will be back for a steak dinner in the next few weeks.

We had a wonderful meal for the first time at this restaurant. The French server was just lovely and really enhanced our dinner with his manner and politeness. We had a very good lobster dinner and will be again

You need to contact the owner at this establishment. Most of the time the owners do not see these reviews and if the quality has been lacking at times, the owner needs to know. I've been there several times and what is really nice is that you do get great quality and value for the dollar. The last time I was at Q Steakhouse we were going to send our meal back but my wife wouldn't let me which now seems hypocritical. The side potatoes were cold and they gave us a much more expensive steak at a lower price. It actually was a grade up so she didn't want to complain. This place is quiet and they don't rush you in order to get the next seating in. I've seen the owner there a few times and I do agree when he is there, the food is outstanding. I believe he is a Iron Chef so quality must be everything. So next time we have a bad or wrong meal, I will write the owner of any restaurant I eat at.

I have been coming in for quite some time now and for the most part the food is unbelievably great. The service can vary depending on your server but also for the most part they are friendly and the atmosphere is not notch. The prices are some of the best for the quality of food you get at this Steakhouse. We have come in several times in the last month and what is troubling is that at times it is hit or miss when it comes to the quality of the dinners. I do not know the owner but I do know that when I see him in the restaurant I know that food will be perfect. There have been two instances lately where we not only had a very undercooked meal and another when they totally botched our order. They were very nice in replacing the meal but we do hope with an establishment of this caliber the food be consistently good. The maitred seemed like a nice fellow but seemed oblivious to our requests. It wasnt until another server came over that we were able to replace our meals. I do hope this was just an anomaly of quality as this is Abbotsfords best value for meals and I would hate for any changes to alter our perception.

Had the most amazing dinner Tuesday night here and had never even heard of the place until I saw their ad on TV! The server was a little daffy but the food was supreme. We had the Lobster Dinner and the food and presentation were excellent. We had driven by a few times after the ad but thought it might have been a pricey place but we were extremely surprised. It was very reasonable and the food portions were very large. The side dishes were captivating and actually quite unique. We looked at the entire menu and the steak prices were better than the KEG and definitely better than Bluestone. The chef was sitting at one of the tables and you could tell by his constant attention that this is one guy who is totally committed to providing not only a great product but an atmosphere that is lively but at the same time quiet enough for a romantic enveing out.

2009-03-25 12:17:48

it is true - the Chef is not a nice person. a dick........however, his food IS Amazing!
just stay clear of him and you will enjoy yourself

2009-01-19 15:54:37

the atmosphere was stunning,
the staff where friendly, and helpful
and the food...

Unbelievable! I loved my time at Q steakhouse! i will be returning soon!

2009-01-03 23:16:25

You may not believe the part of the previous review where the owner told his very own customer to f**k off, but I can confirm that it would be definitely possible. I'm not a psychologist, but the owner, Mike is sociopathic in my opinion. I've encountered chef Dicks in various other settings, and he was equally abrasive.

I have to admit, though, that the food and the wait-service was laudably good.

We had a party of 12 at the steakhouse for my inlaws 50th Anniversary, and it was a night to remember. HORRIBLE, initially everything was great, awesome service, great attention from the waiter, but it took over an hour for our appy(which were good) and then nearly 3 hours before our meal arrived. At that point the meal was COLD. After nicely letting the chef know my husband was told to f off, by the chef(owner). We asked for the bill and left. Can't say enough good about the waiter who was very appologetic, but I don't know how a restaurant can stay in business with this kind of attitude. Be careful taking a large group.

My wife and I were there again for dinner this weekend. Although the service was prompt, sadly this restaurant is not the same as it used to be when it was Quazine's with the non-stop live piano music on the weekends and particularly the brunch. Still an excellent meal, but Quazines REALLY set itself from other restaurants in Abbotsford, rather than the Q steakhouse.

2008-10-31 12:32:13

We were very fortunate to get to Qs the other night. I had seen Chef Dicks on CityCooks a few weeks back but in all honesty until I found the website, I had no idea the Q Steakhouse was located where it was. What a pleasure! Our server told us there was a updated menus just starting this week and the food and service were perfect. Our entire bill including wine and entree was less than $70. We are coming back for our Anniversary in November. Tell your friends that you dont need some overpriced snooty 62 to have a quality meal.

My husband I and I recently discovered the Q steakhouse after living in the area for the past 2 years and I am a little disappointed that we did not find it sooner. The service was amazing THANK YOU LAURIE. And the food was suberb. If you have never been to the Q steakhouse you are missing out on a fantastic dining experience.

2008-08-29 04:10:40

After seeing Mike at the Abbotsford Air Show, we had to check out Q's. INCREDIBLE!
Not to berate the other Steakhouses but for the price you pay at the Keg or even Earl's, nothing there compares to the quality of food and excellence of service and a BETTER VALUE. Chef Dicks walks around the tables and the whole staff is first rate. Good crowd but quiet enough for a lingering meal and good conversation.
We'll be back again and if you have not found Q Steakhouse, you are really missing out on Abbotsford's premier restaurant.

2008-07-14 05:31:17

My husband and I spent our 39th wedding anniversary at Q's and it was a evening to remember. The food and service were outstanding. We will definitely recommend Q's to friends and will be back.

2008-07-04 18:15:47

It's funny and I read the dopes review below and couldn't believe my eyes. We just came from a incredible dinner and the meat was beyond perfection. This makes a place like The Keg look like a McDonald's. I was skeptical after the change from Quazines to Q Steakhouse but it was exactly what Abbotsford needed. You can have a quality lunch for less than it would cots you at RED ROBIN for that matter. First class but casual atmosphere and the food surpasses any expectations. The Baked Brie appetizer was so light and tasty. The Roiled Prime Rib 16 ounce steak was delicious and only $29. The service is excellent and they really seem to appreciate your patronage.

2008-05-11 18:36:23

Mediocre. That's it. Nothing other than the hospitality was above average. The food was very average and lacking in inspiration. I was told the salmon was cooked to medium and when it came, it was cooked beyond well done. If we had zero expectations the meal would have been just adequate. Being a CCC chef, one would expect he wouldn't play with culinary terms and deceive guests with false expectations. The Vol au vent was a couple slabs of under cooked puff pastry, not a shell or a pastry case at all. I will say the vegetables were the best part of the meal. They were really good. Perhaps there is an opening in Abbotsford for a vegetarian restaurant. Oh well, perhaps they were having a poor night in the kitchen. I wouldn't bother going back to see if that was the case. 6 out of 10.

2008-05-01 17:44:37

Without any doubt, the best food and service in the Lower Mainland. The appetizers are amazing and the steaks are really incredible. You can go and really have a great lunch for about $10-$12 or a great dinner for about $25 or less. Not to put down any other Steak houses in the Valley, you really get value for your money at Q's

2008-05-01 16:07:32

Their new interior and menu is fantastic! Excellent steaks and appetizers are mouth watering. You get so much more than what you pay for - excellent prices for the quality of food and service provided.

Mike
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening last night. It was the perfect evening to celebrate our mother's 75th birthday. She will be talking about last night and the Chef's table for a long time. The food was outstanding, though I think that is a bit of an understatement.
Brenda

Hi Mike,

Just wanted to send out a big 'Thank You' to
you and your staff for a wonderful wedding
reception. We have had nothing but positive
comments from our guests everyone loved
the food and the selection. I personally was
very happy with the way your staff handled
everything so quickly and efficiently - it
really seemed as if food appeared, and
dirty dishes disappeared, without my even
noticing how or when.

Thanks again for a wonderful meal,
Lynne Homewood

Excellent food and service. Had the Chef's Table Experience for our anniversary when the restaurant was Quazines. Recently spent a lovely evening sharing appetizers and wine seated by the water wall. Very romantic. Thank heavens Abbotsford finally has a fine dining option!

The old Quazines was exceptional and now the new Q Steakhouse is unbelievable! The new atmosphere is warm, inviting and absolutely enjoyable. The food is the same amazing quality in taste and presentation as it always was! Good work Chef Mike! We love the new place and your steaks are the best!
